That's a wrap of repairs for 2024 in Kaitaia

It was a busy morning at the last Kaitaia Repair Cafe for 2024 (held on 30th November), repairing all sorts of items brought in by the community. Timebankers used timecredits to get their chainsaws back up and running, and music speakers fixed. The chainsaw needed a new pully cord and its blade tightened, all repaired thanks to Pascal and Jatinder.

Members of the public brought in some items that were successfully repaired:

-A toaster (that has centimental value as it was a wedding gift) was brought back to life. It didn't take Pascal and Jatinder long to figure out the issue. Kerry was over the moon to have it back!

-Buffy brought in garden tools such as a fork, rake and a broom. All needed their handles replaced and fixed. Thanks to our repairer John, all three were handed back to Buffy in working order and ready to be put to use in the garden.

-It's a busy time for mowing lawns and Treena needed her mower blades sharpened along with four knives, thanks to Pascal and his expert knife sharpening skills, all were sharp as nails in no time and ready to be put to work.

-Anna spent the morning mending and altering her pants to make her phone pocket larger to fit her new phone. Such a great idea!

Huge thanks to Timebank members that have volunteered their time to be expert repairers for the 2024 Repair Cafes, without you the Repair Cafe wouldn't happen! We're looking forward to welcoming many more repairs when we resume again in January 2025 at the Menz Shed, held every last Saturday of the month from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
