Waste minimisation dominated discussions at July Green Drinks, which was held at He Awhi Rito. Eight Timebankers and three new walk-ins enjoyed exchanging solutions and ideas to minimising ‘waste’ leaving their homes.
Everyone had the opportunity to make samples of their own home-made cleaners and laundry powder with ingredients supplied by Bronte and Lucrecia, Ecosolutions (Timebank Organisational Member).
It’s worth remembering that the following items can be dropped off for free for re-purposing / recycling in Whangārei:
Household batteries – Bunnings
E-Waste (computers & all their accessories, printers, cameras etc – Noel Leeming
Ink Cartridges – Harvey Norman, Warehouse Stationary & Cartridge World
Lightbulbs – Mitre 10
Polystyrene – EPS Foam at 13 Kioreroa Road
Tretra-Paks – Ngunguru Sports Centre or drop into He Awhi Rito & earn Time credits.
